10 pieces of Home Decor to Witchify Your Space

So you want your home to look like an ancient and all knowing Witch Goddess has taken up residence without breaking the bank or losing your deposit? Read on!

1. Start with the biggest and most visible part of your room. The walls. If you can paint, go for dark rich colors- dark greys, blues, even blacks. Or for a more eclectic witch look, try jewel or earth tones. If you can’t paint- try a patterned peel and stick wall paper with an ornate or organic design.

2. Now lets focus on the next most visible part of your space. The Ceiling. Nothing ruins an aesthetic like a bright white or cream ceiling. If you’re painting, extend the paint onto the ceiling. If you’re wall papering add the same paper or a plain black or grey paper to your ceiling. If you’ve got popcorn ceilings, drape dark fabric to cover it up and soften the space.

3. Now we tackle the floor. If you’ve got carpet that you can’t remove, cover it up with a beautiful area rug that fills the space. Choose a pattern that’s organic or mystical. Add in some pops of color if you desire.

4. Is your couch or bed fitting with the aesthetic? If not and you can’t afford all new furniture (who can in this economy?!) Invest in some good couch covers or throw blankets. Grab a new Duvet or quilt for your bed.

5. The next step for establishing your Witch’s Den is to invest in some lighting options that maintain the aesthetic.

7. We’ll also need some window treatments, because no witches Lair is complete without them.

8. Get some interesting plants for your space to add an organic feel. Dark purple plants maintain the Gothic aesthetic, or an indoor herb garden for concocting your own witchy spells from the comfort of your own kitchen are perfect.

9. Every witchy home has an altar. To Create your own you can use any surface in your home you want (mantle, windowsill, bookshelf, dresser) and photos, talismans, and something to represent each of the 4 elements.
